Stop 1: Materuni Village – Coffee Plantation Tour
Your adventure begins with a visit to a traditional Chagga coffee farm in Materuni Village, located just 15 kilometers north of Moshi. Here, you’ll be warmly welcomed by local farmers who will guide you through the fascinating process of coffee production — from picking ripe coffee cherries to roasting, pounding, and grinding your own beans.
You’ll have the unique opportunity to participate in every step of the process and finally enjoy a freshly brewed cup of coffee made with your own hands. This hands-on cultural experience is one of the highlights of the tour and offers a genuine glimpse into the daily life of the Chagga people.
Stop 2: Materuni Waterfalls – Scenic Hike & Swimming

The water is so clear that you can easily see the bottom even in the deepest areas (up to 10 meters). Relax on the peaceful shore, take a refreshing swim in the mineral-rich pools, or swing into the water from overhanging branches. You might even spot playful baboons and monkeys in the surrounding trees.
Note: The springs are naturally warm (not hot) — they are heated by geothermal activity from Mount Kilimanjaro.
